At The Cottage Foodie, our mission is simple but powerful: to support local small businesses by connecting consumers with talented cottage food producers who craft delicious, artisanal products right from their home kitchens. To make this happen, we've created a unique online directory exclusively for Cottage Food Producers (CFPs). Through extensive surveys, we learned that one of the biggest challenges faced by CFPs is finding effective ways to "get their name out there." That's where we come in!
The Cottage Foodie’s founder, Matt Rosen, brings a wealth of experience to the table. After serving 23 years in the military and retiring in 2015, Matt ventured into the cottage food industry in 2018. As his own cottage food business grew, so did his passion for the entire industry. Matt is an active member of the MN Cottage Food Producers Association (MNCFPA) and has even testified before the MN Legislature to advocate for his fellow cottage food producers. Today, his business has expanded to the point where, in addition to being a registered CFP, he operates as a Wholesale Food Manufacturer out of a commercial kitchen. His signature Sergeant Shortbread cookies are now available at multiple breweries and coffee shops across Minnesota.
The Cottage Foodie wouldn't be what it is today without the support of Dale, Michelle, and Pat from the LTR Digital Group. Their invaluable contributions have helped turn Matt's vision into a reality, allowing us to raise awareness for local cottage food businesses and create meaningful connections between producers and consumers.
